This weekend we participated in a great event, the 2019 Hungarian Tennis Association Coaches’ Conference in Budapest, Hungary. The theme of the conference was "The Modern Game Style - Developing Competitive Junior Tennis Players".
The conference focused on developing a modern game style for junior players, with an emphasis on the technical and tactical development of the baseline shots and serve. The presentations also included the importance of technology in coaching, the development of specific physical skills and the application of appropriate techniques that play a major role in injury prevention.
The main speakers at 2019 Hungarian Tennis Association Coaches’ Conference were:
Øivind Sørvald, the Director of High Performance and Coach Education for the Norwegian Tennis Association (NTF). He is a level 3 coach licensed by the Norwegian Tennis Federation and has coached tennis players for more than 40 years.
Cyril Genevois is a tennis coach and physical conditioning expert with over 25 years’. He is a qualified “Tennis Professor Level 2”, the highest tennis coaching qualification in France and has a Master’s degree and PhD in Sport Sciences.
Simon Wheatley is the LTA Performance Coach Education Manager for British Tennis. He is responsible for writing, managing and tutoring the highest level of performance qualifications at the LTA. He is also responsible for the continuous professional development program for all performance coaches working in British Tennis.
Dario Novak is an assistant professor at the University of Zagreb and a research associate at Institute for Anthropological Research, Croatia. An editor of one book and author of over 200 publications in scientific and sports journals, Doctor Novak has offered several keynote and invited presentations, and over 50 conference paper presentations.
