Climb to Kilimanjaro 2022
Kilimanjaro (Kilimanjaro, Kili)
Kilimanjaro (Kilimanjaro, Kili) is the tallest freestanding mountain in the world, and the highest peak in Africa with Uhuru peak at 5895 meters. It is located in northwestern Tanzania about 350 km south of the equator.
At the same time, it is also the Kilimanjaro National Park, which was founded in 1971.
Considering it’s the highest peak of the continent with a height of 5895 m, but without complicated technical requirements and almost without snow, it is the target of a large number of mountaineers, trekkers, and tourists. They all want to climb Africa’s tallest peak!
The climb to the top itself is actually a classic trekking and there are several routes that lead to the top. We cannot talk about an expedition because all the details are known and all the routes have been established, and expeditions are led to unknown regions with the aim of research.
Machame route to Kilimanjaro
The Machame route, also called the Wisky route, is one of the most popular Kilimanjaro trekking tours. It is slightly more difficult compared to the Marangu route. The Machame route has a very high summit success rate. Considering the route's topography, which allows hikers to climb high and sleep low, making it a more favorable route for acclimatisation.
Unlike the Marangu route which has a gradual ascent, the Machame route has steeper trails and hikers walk longer distances. This route offers some of the most spectacular scenery while on the mountain.
The Machame route starts on the southwest side of the mountain and continues steeply northwards, passing the Shira Plateau and eventually joining the Shira and Lemosho routes at Shira Camp.
The ascent is intended for mountaineers and recreationists:
who want to climb one of the 7 highest peaks of the continents,
who want to climb the highest peak in Africa,
who are ready for difficult conditions during the ascent and altitude,
who are in good shape,
who want to push their boundaries,
for whom it is a challenge to get out of the comfort zone,
who want to get to know the exoticism of Africa through all climate zones,
which are led by experienced guides
who like exotic and distant trips
THE UNIQUENESS OF THIS KILIMANJARO CLIMB
The interesting and attractive feature of this ascent is that during the ascent you pass through all climatic zones, from tropical forest, mountain meadows and karst vegetation, high altitude deserts and finally to the peaks above 5000 m where there is extreme cold, rarefied air and UV radiation.
Due to the high altitude and thin air, proper and good acclimatization is very important for the success of the ascent.
On this climb, you do not need mountaineering equipment, as with most mountains of this height.
This trip is organized only as a climb to the highest peak in Africa. If one of the participants wants a safari or let's say a vacation in Zanzibar, we offer these options as well.
